June 13-15, 2014
The LA Rope Dojo is proud to announce that Japanese rope master Akira Naka will be making his first visit to the United States June 13-15, 2014. Naka Sensei will be visiting Los Angeles and will be here for a very special, one night only (6/13) performance and a weekend of classes (6/14 and 6/15).
Master “K” and Zetsu, proprietors of the LA Rope Dojo, will be hosting Naka Sensei for his first trip to America. They have arranged for a schedule to allow as many people as possible to experience the beauty of kinbaku (Japanese erotic rope bondage).
The performance will take place on June 13th in Silverlake and will feature Akira Naka with his partner Iroha Shizuki, demonstrating his unique and powerful style of shibari. Following the show, Naka San and Iroha San will be interviewed by Master “K” to discuss the performance as well as Naka San’s history in the world of erotic rope bondage. Tickets for the performance are available at http://nakashow.bpt.me. Reservations are required.
Tickets for the classes sold out almost immediately to members of the LA Rope Dojo and to Master K’s private students, but efforts are underway to make a handful of additional spaces available (please contact us at [email protected] if you would be interested in attending).
About Akira Naka
Akira Naka is the sole student of Nureki Chimuo, who recently passed away at the age of 84 and was considered to be one of the greatest of all Japanese rope artists. Naka San studied with Nureki for more than 20 years, learning his style. He has only recently started teaching and this will be the first time Naka’s unique approach will be taught in America. Known for his dramatic ties, intense and powerful suspension work, and subtle mastery of power, control, and technique, Naka San’s technique can be traced to some of the oldest styles of modern shibari. Whether as a student or a spectator, Naka San, and his fascinating style of kinbaku, will transform the way you see Japanese rope bondage.
