SUMMARY:Special Topics: Yukimura Stye Predicament Ties
DESCRIPTION:This is a class on crotch ropes/ties and neck rope (Matanawa\, 股縄\, Kubi Nawa\, 首縄).  One common technique in Yukimura’s style of shibari involves the concept of connection or linking (Renketsu\, 連結) different parts of the body together to emphasize eroticism and control. \nLike most Yukimura ties\, the constructions are basic and simple\, but the ties gain power from how they create a strong emotional and psychological effect. \nOne of the key techniques for doing that is connecting different parts of a tie together and two of the best places to do that are with crotch ropes and neck ties\, which have the effect of giving every movement an erotic charge or connection. \nThis class introduces both the philosophy and technique of “linking” to show how you can create simple ties with powerful effect\, with the basic constructions all being one rope ties. \nFor this class we will explore six different ties that show various methods for linking and connecting part of the body together. \nStudents must be comfortable with crotch ties (e.g. having rope between the legs)\, neck rope\, and engaging with erotic elements of shibari. \nThis is an intermediate level class and requires a basic understanding of wrists ties\, body positioning\, and effective communication between partners. \nStudents should come prepared with at least one 8m rope to be used for crotch ties or be prepared to purchase one at the dojo (rope is available for $20 per length for 5mm or 6mm rope). \n
