The Yukimura Gote: Theory and Practice
April 24, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every year that begins at 1:00 pm on of April and October, happening 4 times

The essence of Yukimura’s kinbaku can be found in the construction of his gote (hands behind the back tie). In this class we will examine the details of the construction of the tie as well as how we can use the gote to set, communicate, and guide intention. Deceptively simple at first, the gote is a tie that is difficult to master, but which is capable of communicating deeply and meaningfully with your partner.
We will work on the fundamentals of the one rope gote before moving on to several versions of Yukimura’s two rope gote, and finally examine a series of decorative patterns using a third rope to enhance the look and feel of the tie.
Class is limited to 4 couples. You are required to have a partner to tie present.
Space is extremely limited. Each class will be limited to 4 couples. We have a strict policy on attendance. Because space is at a premium, we are unable to offer any refunds for missed classes.
